Meet The Wedding Planners
Lindsay Flagan

Lindsay Flagan
After having graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Lindsay joined United Space Alliance at the Johnson Space Center in Houston as an astronaut instructor and later began training to be a flight controller. She is grateful for the opportunities and skills she was able to develop while working at the Johnson Space Center.
“Working in the aerospace industry was an incredibly rewarding experience that helped me hone my natural problem solving and organizational skills. My work at Johnson Space Center definitely makes me a better wedding planner and my engineering background encourages my need for attention to every detail.”
As president of her sorority in college, Lindsay took the lead in planning events ranging from recruitment to formals. Her natural planning and organizational skills were put to the test throughout the year-long process of planning her own wedding held in her home town in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, while living in Texas. Lindsay thoroughly enjoyed the experience of planning her own wedding – down to the most minute detail.
Shortly thereafter she had an epiphany regarding her future… she needed to be a wedding planner! Not long after, Polished Wedding Planning was born. While she enjoyed her time working in the aerospace industry, Lindsay longed to find a creative outlet and a career path that would take advantage of her full range of skills. It was also incredibly important that she strike a balance between career demands and the needs of her family – husband Adam, daughter Madison and two chihuahuas, Tucker and Olivia.
During Polished Wedding Planning’s first summer, Lindsay planned a total of 7 weddings in the Seattle, WA area (where she and her husband moved following their wedding) single-handedly. After her husband’s transfer back to League City, it wasn’t long before her wedding planning endeavor was back up & running again. “I truly love working weddings because it is one of the happiest days of a person’s life. I also enjoy the feeling of taking the stress off of family and friends so that they can enjoy the special day as well. The smiles at the end of the evening say it all!” The demand for her services soon became more than what Lindsay could handle on her own and it became clear that the time to expand the business had come.
After having enlisted the services of a close friend for help with several weddings, the solution was obvious. In May of 2010 Polished Wedding Planning evolved from a sole-proprietorship to a partnership. “Not only are Laura and I very good friends, we have a great working relationship. We share a similar work ethic and commitment to making our clients’ wedding day dreams come true.”
Laura Hearon

Laura Hearon
Laura’s childhood was filled with dreams of joining the best of the best as one of NASA’s engineers. While pursuing her degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, she earned the opportunity to realize that dream as one of NASA’s co-op students.
Laura was subsequently offered a position as a Planner upon her graduation from Purdue and spent much of the next several years working in Houston’s Space Shuttle Mission Control Center planning and re-planning countless Shuttle missions. “It’s not often that a person has the opportunity to pursue her childhood dream career, ” Laura says of her experience at NASA. “I’ve never taken that experience for granted for a minute.”
While Laura’s career at NASA was the realization of a childhood dream and the reward for many years of hard work, in recent years she began to focus her attention on the pursuit of another of her life’s goals – to start a family. When her daughter, Avery, was born in early 2009 she knew it was time re-prioritize and embark on a career that would provide her with the opportunity to spend more quality time with her growing family. Laura so enjoyed the process of planning her own wedding, making the transition from Shuttle Mission Planner to Wedding Planner came very naturally.
Laura’s detail-oriented nature, as well as the outstanding organization and problem solving skills she honed while at NASA, translate seamlessly into the wedding planning arena. No vision is too vast. No detail is too small. Rest assured the big picture of your perfect wedding day will never be lost. She is a master at resolving the last minute issues that inevitably arise. Her skills and experience ensure that your wedding day is a true reflection of you, so your only job will be to utter the words “I do…”, enjoy your wedding day and create unique memories that will last a lifetime!
